‘What’s It Worth?’ Exhibition
Type - Exhibition Proposal
What’s It Worth? is a visual celebration of the 50p coin—an everyday object that’s quietly fading from our pockets and our attention. This project repositions the coin as a piece of public design worth noticing, reflecting on its cultural significance and the beauty often overlooked in its details. By scaling the coins up and displaying them across large-format walls, I aimed to reignite public interest, spark nostalgia, and invite viewers of all ages to see these familiar forms in a new light.
The project was brought to life through a full exhibition experience, including screen prints, mockups, handouts, and a curated catalogue. The What’s It Worth? catalogue serves as both a record and an extension of the exhibition, offering insight into the creative process, inspirations, and the stories behind the coins. Influenced by Marina Willer’s Overlooked 2.0, it invites reflection on how we engage with everyday objects. Featuring behind-the-scenes photography, coin close-ups, and playful interactive elements like games and stickers, the catalogue is designed to be as engaging as it is informative—especially for younger audiences. Altogether, the project aims to give the 50p coin the recognition it deserves, before it disappears altogether.
