unbound research publication
Type - Research and Packaging
Unbound is a self-initiated publication developed as part of an exploratory research project into gender-neutral design, with a particular focus on packaging.
This project aimed to challenge the current visual language of gender neutrality, which often leans heavily into stripped-back, minimalist aesthetics. Rather than accepting this as the default, Unbound explores alternative approaches that maintain inclusivity without sacrificing visual personality or expression.
The outcome is not a fixed solution, but a curated body of research, ideas, and visual experiments that question conventional norms and open up conversation around how gender can be communicated in design.
Ultimately, Unbound serves as both a research piece and a tool for reflection, aiming to raise awareness and inspire more diverse approaches within the design industry.
